Saturday 1 October 2016

07.43am – Yesterday I scored three goals in the football game but although each was really good goals, they were bittersweet because we lost every game!!!! Agggghhhh!!!! I hate losing. Now look at the media article below.

See the lengths the Security Services can go to protect their ‘interests.’ You see each person working for the Security Services are ‘interests.’ One sometimes thinks the whole place is not governed by human feeling and they don’t give a damn about third parties. Look at what they did in ‘Gorbos’ case – they invented criminal charges and put him in prison, so his wife was even convinced he was in jail to stop her telling:- Familiar????? On another front, Jeremy Corby has understood after reading my statement that of the Foreign Office that terrorist organisations have to be defeated not destroyed.

The bombing policy hits too many ‘forced participants’ in the so called Caliphate and that is not just – but then who the hell ever cares about justice.

Sunday 2 October 2016

07.47am – What a laugh I had reading the news article below.

Look at the paragraph:- what they actually mean is that dishonest conduct outside court is, incompatible with membership of the Bar, because of the oh so many totally dishonest prosecutions and complete failure of prosecuting counsel adhering to the standards required for prosecution. In my three and a half years in prison I have listed, so far, 47 cases of non compliance with the code of conduct for Crown Prosecutors. So I do feel sorry for Peter Bennett, but maybe someone should look into the high cost of rail travel. The fact he was disbarred having received a suspended sentence, is only the Bar Council distracting people looking into how Counsel decides upon a prosecution, which 90% of the time is based solely on ensuring there is a trial, so that they get paid for a trial, not as it is supposed to be based upon the realistic prospects of a prosecution. What is worse, in the last 15 years that I know firsthand the Court of Appeal becoming more and more intellectually dishonest. They grant carte blanche correcting the mistakes of the Crown, always favoring the Crown, and at the expense of true justice.

Monday 3 October 2016

09.02am – Saw this very small news article, and yes I guess, for my part I sure as hell agree that children prefer grandparents to parents, well actually it’s not grandparents in the plural but grandmother to mum.  Count me in for that. I truly preferred my grandmother to mum.

09.04am – Now we have lost here also BBC1, so now we have BBC2, Channel 4 and Channel 5 as well as ITV4 and Film 4. Oh well you know the funny thing? I’m not even angry. In fact when you are in these places you don’t even give a Charlie after a while at whatever happens. Sad but true.

08.36pm – Insufficient staff today. What more can be said?

Tuesday 4 October 2016
07.33am – Was it not Lady Macbeth who said ‘what’s done is done!’ That is how it is here. You see once into the clutches of the ‘system’ what is done is truly done and hard to extract from the absurdities of the system.

07.35pm – Carrying out some research the last few days (where did I find the time I don’t know) I suddenly find that some of the so called rules here are unlawful and based upon a misconception of powers vested in the secretary of State for Justice that clearly are nonexistent.  Will I do anything about it? Well, I just might…. For some sport!!!!

07.05pm – Some may have noticed that in the last good while I have made no comment on the situation in Syria. Well the killing continuing speaks volumes and who is to blame is now irrelevant.

Wednesday 5 October 2016

12.57pm – Well it does seem that the News of the World’s ‘fake sheikh’ has perhaps written his own prison sentence.

Of course, there is a chance that he may be found ‘not guilty’ but we shall see. If, he is convicted, then he will go down for a good few years, and as he will go to Belmarsh Prison he may well end up here eventually. That will also – you would think that is – call for an investigation into all those he helped send to prison, including one I represented Suresh Kumar, who was never guilty, but ended up in jail anyway, however, we will have to wait and see on that issue.

01.01pm – I see that the UK Independence Party has lost its leader only 19 days into the job! You see the – what was the Referendum Party – was set up by my old friend Jimmy Goldsmith, just to get a Referendum and Britain leaving the European Union. Once achieved the Party was to be disbanded. That is what should have happened. Sure as hell Nigel Farage resigned and kept faithful to the ideal, but others wanted to carry on so the curse of Jimmy Goldsmith has hit the party for not remaining faithful to the concept.

Thursday 6 October 2016

07.34am – Well there is a turn up for the books as they say – stolen Van Gogh’s found in Castellammare di Stabia near Naples, in Italy, in the house of Raffaele Imperiale. Let me say that they are only the ‘tip of the iceberg.’ Many ‘organisations’ prefer to steal artworks, sculptures or artifacts (as well as cash) because they hold their value and cannot be spent easily. Also, strangely, by valuable paintings being stolen, because of the enhanced demand, and they being unavailable the paintings increase in value, and others also increase in value, because there are less of them available. Weird logic but the theft of artworks.

07.39am – Well the ‘fake sheikh’ was finally convicted as expected and bailed pending sentence. Within minutes of the guilty verdict my friend, solicitor Mark Lewis, quickly field 30 plus legal actions in the Civil Courts for victims of the various ‘Sting Operations……Talk about a ‘chain reaction’ as the song goes!!!!!

Friday 7 October 2016

09.46am – Well, well, well an English lawyer, white who tries to kill his wife gets six years jail. That goes to show how racist and prejudice that English law promotes.

If he were foreign, or black, rest assured that a life sentence (discretional life) would have without doubt be invoked. But because he was a prosecutor, more the less, and white, then, of course, the sentence has to be low if not even offensive to any type of justice. It will be interesting to see if the Attorney General tries to review the sentence but somehow I doubt it.

09.50am – I came across this below a news article about my friend Justin Penrose. He is a dear friend and, the last three years really came back into his journalism career and, doing really well. The case should never have been raised but this is a story with a happy ending. Well done Justine for the past three years.

Saturday 8 October 2016

08.31am – Finally it has taken like ten years for the story below to be published.

I met the guys in Iraq who had the PR  deal, and at the end of the day the United States used Iraqi money to pay for the contract, so I was not surprised at the half a billion dollar deal which dwarfed any other PR deal in history. I though, and, made my opinion clear that stealing Iraqi money to pay for such services was offensive but Bell didn’t give a damn, and I’m not sure he even actually cared where the money came from. I remember saying that if Iraq had supposedly stolen the money in the first place the US stealing stolen money, and a British Company accepting payment, was tantamount to money laundering. Some laughed but the Iraqi citizens who died and British/US military who gave their lives are not laughing.

Sunday 9 October 2016

08.07am – As a lawyer I have been asked advice on many different aspects of the law – civil/criminal and variations thereof, but never have I been asked to write/draft a contract for a mistress so what a laugh I had when I saw one – my God whatever next????

Recieved a lovely card from Kevin Crace - Thank you Kevin I have written to you!

Monday 10 October 2016

12.30pm – As you see by the news article below that if you have big money and ‘butcher’ your wife you get manslaughter. That is a disgrace.

I have boys here who did much less and got murder conviction. Why? Because they were not rich and powerful bankers but on legal aid, and using lawyers with little to no  experience of conducting a case. That article above is but one example there are many more! Now below yet another conviction of that awful man Chris Denning. I hate and loathe what he has done but why has it been necessary to have four separate trials?  Why? Because the Judge in trial 1,2,3 could not impose a discretionary life sentence and when it came for his release, the public and media were outraged at his being released, so the police put up ‘reserve charges’ and another trial. Rolf Harris the same.

He is tried again in January just before he is to be released. When Max Clifford was acquitted the media printed one paragraph! Need I say more!!!!

Tuesday 11 October 2016

09.31am – I had forgotten why I had posted the news article below but then remembered:- how the idea of individual wealth has again become a dirty word.

I remember Ringo Starr telling me in Los Angeles at the Beverley Wiltshire Hotel why he left the UK. Why? ‘Because from every £1 the state was ‘stealing 19 shillings and 11 pence,’ need I say more?

I also remember in the 1960’s and 70’s how anyone that had a displayed wealth was deemed ‘scabby.’ It’s all to do with envy, but there you have it, and its coming back.

09.35pm – Wow! Well done to George Golloway. There is a lesson for all of us I guess. It’s never too late. There is – I suppose hope for me and those like me and Gerry Bayford hey!!!! I don’t know about dear Gerry but I guess both of us are no Anthony Quinn or Charlie Chaplin, but I guess at a push we can have a go at the Zorba Dame or make a woman, or two, laugh which is as close as we will get to being Charlie Chaplin.

Yesterday had blood tests. The needle went into my bone and left hand with hemorrhaging. Damn and blast this high PSA. I hope my results will be low.

Wednesday 12 October 2016

08.26am – The news from the UK press is always biased towards the UKs own agenda. That has always been the case and always will be. When the UK/US bomb and kill civilians well that is just unfortunate. When the Russians do it then it’s a war crime.

Well let me tell you there are lots of ‘war crimes’ committed by the UK/US NATO during the Yugoslav Civil War, but only the Serb Nation was targeted despite Serbia having been an ally during the First and Second World War. Thank God the Russians have tough skin and double the nuclear capability of the US/UK put together, which stops the UK/US using theirs. I hate all violence which is why again I say as Churchill advocated ‘jaw, jaw, jaw is better than war, war, war.’ I ask one question about Syria:- would the US/UK be so aggressive if Assad’s father had been in power?

08.22am – Just to prove a point:- see how a ‘stalking lawyer’ is leniently treated to possession of indecent images. When ‘Gary Glitter’ was first prosecuted he got time in jail, but, of course, a white rich, lawyer, (English at that) well that is a mitigating factor. I’m sorry but it has to be said. Let me say this, you:- how many people have died in police custody in England in last ten years – not a single white person all who died where black!!!!!

Thursday 13 October 2016

07.58am – Was it not King Lear who said ‘how sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless child.’ Yes, well we will adjourn that statement sine die. On another front we have, as below, a 78 year old man jailed ‘in absentia’ for failing to turn up at Court. How arrogant are those red robed Judges. I mean a 78 year old man.

I do wish that Parliament placed an age limit on those that are sent to prison. What the hell is the point? We have here an 80 year old man, ex MEP, jailed for five years for expenses irregularities. Again I ask - What is the point?

In most other countries there is an age limit for jailing people. Will the UK ever do the same? No way. But that is what ‘splendid isolation’ is all about.

07.09pm – Today, the High Court is hearing a case about who has the right to trigger ‘Art.50’ to take the UK out of Europe:- The Government or Parliament? This is probably going to be one of the most important constitutional cases in a very long time. My own view is that after Cromwell, Parliament must have the right as opposed to the Prime Minister. But the Courts are far from impartial. The Lord Chief Justice is very much a Brexit man so one shall see.

Friday 14 October 2016

07.17pm – Today is the birthday of my eldest son. He has his own family now but you know how it is blood is blood and I remember a lot of stuff.

07.19pm I came across the article below on Abu Hamza.

How weird that Mike Parker at the end talks of an ‘extradition bid.’ Rubbish. Abu Hamza can avail himself like any other British Citizen ‘banged up’ abroad to be repatriated to serve his sentence in this country. His lawyer Lindsay Lewis will know that the application is very simple to make. No reason at all why he should be denied repatriation.

Saturday 15 October 2016

03.20pm – I came across the Sun comment. Well let me tell the Sun this: - 99% of foreign inmates all want to go back to their own country – and all have applied to do so only to be delayed by – yes, you guessed, – the UK Government.

You see if you remove 10,000 foreign inmates, then you will need to close about eight prisons and put out of work maybe up to 2,000 – 4,000 plus support staff. So you know what the UK government does?  Delay, delay, delay! As soon as a foreign inmate is jailed they think of sending one back and when ten new foreign inmates come into prison the UK Government sends one back to their own country. It’s not about justice but pure economics. The Government does not want to rid themselves of 10,000 prisoners, because that would have an adverse affect on employment within the Justice Department. So I hope the Sun concentrate their efforts on truly removing foreign inmates in UK jails, but it will be at a cost of jobs.

Sunday 16 October 2016

01.15pm – For some unknown reason I was not able to sleep so well last night, and today had a couple of heart palpitations – OK, ok, ok yes I do possess a heart for all the doubters. The weather is shall we say funny – morning rain and now I see a bit of sun.

01.17pm – Can someone remind the firm Carrilon that has taken £ 200 million, yes  two hundred million pounds from the taxpayer to run the ‘works and maintenance’ of UK prisons that for eight effing weeks now, on this unit at Highpoint, we do not have BBC/ITV1 and ITV2 leaving with BBC2, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Film 4. Each person pays £1 per week for a TV, a reserve to the prison service of about £100,000 per week meaning £5 million per year!!! That means it should not take eight weeks plus to fix any problems. Now on this unit its calm and no one really complains, in an aggressive manner and, I applaud that manner and, so long as I am here I will always promote the pacifist way of complaint, but my sweet Lord surely eight weeks plus cannot be an appropriate time to fix such a deficiency? Can someone please email Carrilon and let them know that eight weeks is not acceptable time after they have taken £200,000 to fix such a problem. We cannot watch any news, or football, or any of the soaps. £200 million and £5 million reserve per year to the Ministry of Justice – lot eh for almost no proper return!!!!!!

Monday 17 October 2016

07.41am – Nice to see Susan Boyle copying what (I myself) copied from Raiz many years ago when Claudia Villa (deceased) sang with his daughter. I had a duet with a number of deceased top artists in 2006/7/8/9/10 etc, etc. I always thought it technology possible and using in 2005 very brief and not hi-tech instruments succeeded, nice to see that Susan Boyle has done the same with Nat King Cole.

I wonder if for example the Beatles – the two remaining – could record a record with John Lennon and George Harrison???? Now that would be something eh? Just think The Beatles (Paul, Ringo, and John) recording say ‘My Sweet Lord’ or Paul, Ringo and George recording ‘Imagine’ or ‘Woman’????? It will be done rest assured – sometime.

07.47pm – Now I happen to know Phil Green and his wife Tina, and how they are being treated and perceived is – in my view – not correct but I do suggest that both Phil and Tina engage a good criminal law firm and not one of the magic circle law firms – and soon!!!!!

Tuesday 18 October 2016

11.08am – Well, when things looked at an end in the Tripartite Gold Commission of post II world war story things have taken a strange turn. I will write up the story but it does seem that the United Kingdom may well have not paid out Nazi Gold recovered to the appropriate owners. At least 12 ½ thousand kilos of Gold may still be owing to the republic of Italy since July 1958. How this story has run out is truly strange and all because of an extremely honest and, diligent and, fair Governor of this prison am I able to write the story. It will be in the open soon.

08.50pm – Today, went to a meeting about the quality of prison. I don’t know who cares because people really only care about how to survive in the world. How to put two meals on the table per day and, of late, millions of families cannot do that. When you think that bailiffs – acting under an order from the High Court – evicted a family with a child on a life support machine, no question of using discretion or compassion, it’s all about money and capitalism. Well let me be controversial, once: - Jesus Christ was the first Socialist/Communist because he wanted everyone to be equal and all to share what there was. That is socialism/communism so it’s not a surprise I say. Jesus Christ was the original socialist/communist. Those that came later just took the concept to another level – and one that does not work.

Wednesday 19 October 2016

11.54am – Well finally we have our TV channels back after a wait of over two months.

11.36am – Also, somehow feeling better even though the word ‘better’ implies an optimism that is hard to accept or feel.

11.57am – Damn it though now down to two pairs of pants and three pairs of socks, just a few T shirts but do have shirt and trousers only that the trousers are summer and its now getting colder. Damn and blast but time does seem to reduce clothes. Two of my pair of trainers are now worn out – well its 32 years wearing daily. I am also so grateful to the Italian guy from Milan who went back to Italy in July 2013 who gave me two pairs of bed sheets because I still have them. I wash one and use the other as I have to do with underwear. You see in this place you can’t have family sending clothes in. You have to buy from a catalogue, from money you earn, and as I only receive  £9 per week it’s impossible to buy eff all as I need that money for telephone calls.

06.18pm – The situation with the UK exiting the EU is very much of concern to a lot of people. I will be writing to my MP to ask a question that is important. I won’t say what question now but it is an interesting one.

Thursday 20 October 2016

08.12am – Yet again another cold case being re-investigated yet, the Janice Weston murder case is not on the list. Something is not right about that. I hope the Cambridgeshire police re-visit the case and why have Russell-Cooke Solicitors not taken any action? She was a partner???

08.15am – Looking at the ‘Libor’ investigation I do strongly suggest that those questioned under caution, had better get proper representation because charges will be forthcoming. What is however strange is the position of the Chairman and CEO/Directors of Barclays bank??? They must or should have known what was going on. But then again the Chairman and Directors of a major bank are – shall we say – political ‘approvees.’ I will explain more about the procedure of appointing Chairman/Directors of important public companies in due course but save as to say the Government does have a say in what goes!!!!!!

Today parliament will vote on the ‘knighthood’ of Philip Green (Sir) tomorrow the fake sheikh is sentenced. Interesting!!!!!

Friday 21 October 2016

07.38am – Reading the article in the FT the other day I thought how petty and vindictive this government is!

It is clear that the Government ordered Nat West to close the accounts of RT. Well, as you see the policy of ‘splendid isolation’ is now advanced. I hope Caroline will send our support of RT to the editor Margarita Simonyan and a copy of my diary entry. There are of course, other banks and they can always use a lawyer of accountant’s client account temporarily but private banks will always give a good service. C Moore and Co, or Clos Brothers but you know banking abroad and having a business in London is not so difficult. What is disconcerting however, is the level of Government interference into commerce is forever on the increase.

07.25pm – Well what do you think the ‘fake sheikh’ received as a sentence for perverting the course of justice? Andy Coulson got 18 months a couple of years ago, but the fake sheikh only received 15 months of which, after four months he will be released on tagging. Not bad eh for stitching up Tulisa! In this case yes I applaud Judge Alistair McCreath yes Judge Mcreath I applaud him for how he ‘sussed’ out the fake sheikh at Tulisas trial and got it right. Look, when he is right I will sing his praises and when he is wrong (McCreath that is) I will say. He was right – well done!

Saturday 22 October 2016

05.37pm – Just found the news article about John Palmer published in the Sun yesterday. What a terrible shame. When I succeeded for Palmer, in 2002, to overturn his confiscation of £58 million and I did his parole applications enabling him to be released in 2006 I thought I had given him a new start.

He still had his business and millions so there was no excuse to jail again. I’m disappointed to learn that the authorities believe he continued to commit fraud whilst in prison. Not true! I saw him once or twice per week and I would have known. I did not know that Spain had ordered a trial for Christina next year. I hope she succeeds as she is a good woman.

Sunday 23 October 2016

10.51am – Well one thing is for sure – the weather seems OK and I can see sunshine at least. Whenever there is sunshine the mood of people is good. This morning its ‘lockdown’ because – yes, you guessed it – no staff which is strange when there are two million recently unemployed. Now it’s time to be controversial for a change:- now that Brexit seems to have hit and Britain be out of the EU, why not bring back conscription?  At the end of the day the military needs to be enhanced and getting it done requires a supplement of military. Conscription is a must under the circumstances.

05.20pm- What a turn up for the book – so far Chelsea are beating Manchester United 3 - 0 and my youngest son told me that AC Milan beat Juventus 1-0 yesterday with Juventus having one goal disallowed!!! There is a turn up for the book!!!!! Juventus having a goal annulled which is rare as an Arab at a Bar Mitzvah!!!! The weather has held out – not that I have taken advantage because today I have stayed in mostly not wishing to go out and take some air. The shortage of staff is having an effect on the moral of people here, both guards and inmates. We are all pissed off but somehow we and, I mean we, (inmates and prison officers) are working together to get the best out of a bad lot. We have a common goal – to live together in peace.

Monday 24 October 2016

12.50pm – I saw this photo the other day and I thought to myself ‘aye aye.’

I mean Matteos’ wife was there, but there you have it as Mr. Blair says. Now, today I sent letter to Nicola Sturgeon and Nick Clegg about a very important matter involving Brexit! I will be writing to the Attorney General Jeremy Wright (now QC), also. I will say no more about the matter yet!

12.45pm – Things are moving in the right direction. I will say this though about Phillip and Tina Green. For my purpose and I know them, they are nice people but my strong advice would be to take advice from a firm of solicitors specializing in criminal law…..and Quick!!!!!

Tuesday 25 October 2016

10.03am – I was sad to see the news article about Mervyn Conn being jailed for fifteen years at the age of 82 regarding, allegations way back before 1976 and 1985.

Sorry, but for me and many jurists this country needs a Statute of Limitations’. It’s impossible to defend sexual allegations after forty years and there is a real risk of injustice, especially when dealing with an old man of 82!!!!! I do not condone, or approve, or promote sexual misconduct but neither can it be said that after forty years a person is accused of sexual misconduct.  The US and most other countries have Statue of Limitations’ for the same reasons I have advocated:- the real risk of injustice. More to the point, what the hell is the point of jailing a man aged 82?????? In my unit here we have an ex MEP who is aged 80. What a complete waste of public taxpayers’ money. In Italy and many other countries old age pensioners do not go to jail they have other means of punishment. It seems to me totally absurd and this country is not only advancing to a policy of splendid isolation but of the risk of actually being isolated in times of need.
